Building on the strengths of the R2 & CUTTER screws the R3 CYCLONE sets a new standard for Reisser woodscrews.

Manufactured in the same factory as the CUTTER using the same world class materials and production facilities this new screw has added features that differentiate it from CUTTER and offer significant performance advantages. 

On the R3 CYCLONE we have replaced the two slots with a new bias thread tip design. Not only does this grab instantly, and give a high speed start, it also acts as a “hole former” pushing the wood away and forming a clear path for the main threads to follow. As no fibres are removed, maximum pull out value is maintained. The removal of slots also allows this screw to be used effectively in plastic expansion plugs. 

The main thread pitch and pattern is the same tried and tested deep wide pattern as is found on the CUTTER and R2 and the yellow passivation and lubrication gives the performance that Reisser customers expect. 

Another major change is the head design. We have replaced the ribs and tucks from the CUTTER screw with a new R3 CYCLONE rib design. This still provides excellent countersinking in most materials but has the major advantage that it gives an overall “flat” profile which allows the head to sit and properly engage with recesses in hinges and hardware. This answers a demand for a fast start “self drilling” hinge screw.
